Lalid promises an intimate musical experience at LALID LIVE

Ghanaian artiste Lalid is set to take fans on a different musical journey when he stages LALID LIVE on December 4 at Bloom Bar, Untamed Empire.

For the emerging artiste, the concert represents more than an opportunity to perform his catalogue. It is a chance to deepen his connection with the audience and give fans a closer look at the person and artiste behind the music.

Lalid said the timing feels right, given his growth over the past year and the relationship he has built with his listeners.

“For me, LALID LIVE is more than just performing songs. I want people to feel the music differently. I want them to see a side of LALID that they probably don’t get to experience every day,” he said.

The event comes at a defining point in Lalid’s career, following a year that has seen his music gain increased attention and several of his songs trend among Ghanaian listeners.

‘The Matter’ opened the door Lalid credits his breakthrough record, ‘The Matter’, with helping more people discover his artistry.

According to him, the song arrived at a crucial stage when he was still developing his identity and figuring out how he wanted audiences to perceive him.

“It made people pay closer attention to what I was doing. But for me, the biggest thing was that it proved that when I stay true to my sound and my identity, people will connect with it,” he said.

Rather than seeing The Matter as a song that changed his identity, Lalid believes it helped audiences discover what was already there.

“It helped more people discover who Lalid is,” he explained.

A year of consistency and growth The artiste believes his progress over the past year has been driven largely by consistency and a deliberate approach to his music.

He said he has been intentional about exploring different sides of his artistry without losing the identity that connects his music to his audience.

“I’m not trying to make every song sound the same. I’m just making music that feels honest to where I am at the moment, and I feel the audience can feel that,” Lalid said.

That approach has resulted in several songs gaining traction, giving the artiste a broader platform to demonstrate his versatility.

‘I’ve Had Enough’ strikes a chord Among his recent releases, ‘I’ve Had Enough’ has emerged as one of the songs connecting strongly with listeners.

Lalid describes the record as a reflection of a particular mindset and period in his life, built around the decision to walk away from situations that no longer serve you.

“Sometimes you just get to a point where you decide, ‘You know what, I’m done. I’m choosing myself and I’m moving forward,’” he said.

The song’s reception has given him another indication of the connection he is building with his audience.

‘I’ve Had Enough’ recently reached number two on Ghana’s viral chart, a development Lalid considers particularly meaningful because, in his view, listeners are connecting with the message behind the music as much as the sound.

Awards recognition adds momentum Lalid’s growing profile has also been reflected in his nominations at the Ghana Music Awards Ghana and the Ghana Music Awards UK, including a nomination for Best New Artiste.

For the young musician, the recognition is both an encouragement and a responsibility.

“It tells me that the work is being noticed and that Lalid is becoming part of bigger conversations,” he said.

He added that what matters most to him is the growing belief in what his artistry represents.

‘I’m looking at Lalid as a career’ Despite the attention surrounding his recent music, Lalid insists he is not treating his current run as a temporary moment.

“I think the biggest thing is that I’m not looking at Lalid as a moment. I’m looking at it as a career,” he said.

He believes a breakthrough song may introduce an artiste to an audience, but sustained relevance depends on what follows.

His focus, therefore, is on consistently releasing quality music, improving his sound, performing, connecting with his audience and building a strong identity around the Lalid brand.

“A breakthrough song can introduce you to people, but it’s the work you do after that which determines whether they stay,” he said.

From being discovered to meeting expectations With increased visibility, Lalid acknowledges that expectations have also changed.

He said that while audiences were still discovering him a year ago, there is now a certain standard listeners expect whenever he releases new music.

Rather than viewing that as pressure, he considers it motivation to continue evolving.

“The pressure is really to keep evolving without losing the identity that got people connected to me in the first place,” he said.

He describes his supporters as family and hopes the live experience will eventually develop into a platform that grows alongside his career.

“It’s a celebration of the journey, a connection with the fans and the first page of the next chapter,” he said.

Building a Ghanaian sound for a new generation Beyond his immediate ambitions, Lalid wants his music to reflect the experiences of his generation while remaining rooted in Ghanaian identity.

He hopes to demonstrate that artistes can experiment, evolve and create their own musical lanes without disconnecting from where they come from.

But his ambitions extend beyond his own career.

Lalid wants his journey to inspire younger artistes who are still searching for their place in the industry.

“I want somebody coming up after me to look at what Lalid has built and believe that there’s space for them too,” he said.

For him, the conversation is ultimately about legacy,  leaving behind music, moments and a story that people can remember.

‘We’re only getting started’ As he looks ahead, Lalid says Ghana should expect more music, greater consistency and continued growth.

He acknowledges that many listeners discovered him through The Matter a year ago, but says his recent run of trending songs demonstrates how far the journey has progressed.

His ambition is to continue creating music that reflects his identity, his roots and the generation he represents, while building a sound that can connect with audiences beyond Ghana.

“I’m thinking about legacy. I want Lalid to be remembered as an artiste who brought his own identity, sound and perspective to Ghanaian music,” he said.

“So if you think you’ve seen what Lalid can do, just know that we’re only getting started.”
